17-Aug-2009 Rescue of Mr. Oscar Perez has been Called Off. Pakistan Army helicopters (Ecureuils and Mi-17) remained busy round the clock from 10 – 16 Aug 09 having transported over 30 rescuers and 1400 Kgs of climbing equipment. The rescue efforts were finally called off on 16 Aug 09, Sunday, by the Spanish Embassy in Islamabad.
15-Aug-2009 Transportation of 130 Kgs of load including rope from Skardu to Latok-1 for Spanish Rescue Team. On 15 Aug / 1400 hrs local Spanish Embassy requested for a helicopter to transport 130 Kgs of load including rope from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C. The msn was immediately passed to all concerned and by 1700 hrs local Mi-17 helicopter took off from Skardu and transported 130 Kgs of load to Latok-1 B.C for the Spanish rescue team.
15-Aug-2009 17th Rescue - Mr. Zdenek Hruby of Czech G1 Expedition from IHEC (Rescue Msn Completed) (0900 Hours Local / 14th Aug) Telephonic message received from Mr. Ghulam Muhammad of Blue Sky Treks & Tours for Rescue of Mr. Zdenek Hruby of Czech G1 Expedition from IHEC, (0915 Hours Local / 14 Aug) Mission passed to GHQ on Telephone. (0925 Hours Local / 14 Aug) Fax message to Corps and FCNA / Sqn. Rescue Mission could not be executed due to non-availability of helicopters. (0815 Hours Local / 14 Aug) 2 x Ecureuil helicopters took off from Skardu and by 1200 hours local Mr. Zdenek Hruby was sucessfully evacauted to Skardu. (Rescue Msn Completed)
14-Aug-2009 Transportation of remaining team members of 10 x Porters (Spanish, American & Pakistanis) from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C (1540 hours local) Transportation of remaining team consisting of 10 porters (American, Spanish & Pakistanis) high and low altitude porters has started from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C. The team is being transported in a Mi-17 helicopter with 500-600 Kgs of climbing equipment. The team will set a new base camp and prepare themselves for climbing to reach Mr. Oscar Perez
13-Aug-2009 Transportation of a team consisting of 14 x Porters (Spanish, American & Pakistanis) from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C. (1540 hours local) Transportation of a team consisting of 14 porters (American, Spanish & Pakistanis) high and low altitude porters has started from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C. The team is being transported in a Mi-17 helicopter with 500-600 Kgs of climbing equipment. The team will set a new base camp and prepare themselves for climbing to reach Mr. Oscar Perez.
13-Aug-2009 Transportation of Spanish Climber Team from Islamabad to Skardu at specially approved Mi-17 helicopter. A special team of Spanish Climbers Mr. Daniel, Mr. Simon, Mr. Jorge, Mr. Jordi & Mr. Jonatan was supposed to travel from Islamabad to Skardu by PIA flight, but due to technical reasons the flight was cancelled. A specially approved Mi-17 helicopter is now transporting the Spanish Team from Islamabad to Skardu, The team on reaching Skardu will help in search & rescue mission of Mr. Oscar Perez at Latok-1.
12-Aug-2009 16th Search & Rescue - Mr. Oscar Perez of Spanish Latok-1 Expedition from Latok-1 B.C (3rd Search & Rescue Msn Completed) (0900 Hours Local / 12th Aug) Telephonic message received from Mr. Naik Naam of Adventure Tours that they want the helicopters to carry 3 x Pakistani high altitude porters with 250 Kgs of load from Skardu to Baintha Lukpar Glacier so that they can prepare a suitable helipad for the transportation of foreign expert climbers. (0920 Hours Local / 12th Aug) Mission passed to GHQ on Telephone. (0930 Hours Local / 12 Aug) Fax message to Corps and FCNA / Sqn. (1345 hours local / 12 Aug 2 x Ecureuil helicopters have taken off from Skardu with 3 x Pakistani high altitude porters with 250 Kgs of load. (1730 hours local) Helicopters came back with Spanish & American climbers from Latok-1 B.C. (Search & Rescue Msn Completed)
11-Aug-2009 15th Search & Rescue - Mr. Oscar Perez of Spanish Latok-1 Expedition from Latok-1 B.C (2nd Search & Rescue Msn Completed) (2000 Hours Local / 10th Aug) Telephonic message received from Mr. Naik Naam of Adventure Tours that they want the helicopters to carry a American high altitude porter from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C tomorrow morning. The helicopters will also drop food supplies on Mr. Oscar at 6300 meters. (2020 Hours Local / 10th Aug) Mission passed to GHQ on Telephone. (2040 Hours Local / 10 Aug) Fax message to Corps and FCNA / Sqn. (0815 hours local / 11 Aug 2 x Ecureuil helicopters have taken off from Skardu with a American Porter for Latok-1 B.C. (1400 hours local) The helicopters came back and the pilots told that Mr. Oscar Perez is stuck on a height where helicopters cannot reach him. There are no signs of Mr. Oscar. They have dropped the American porter at the B.C, which will try to climb and bring Mr. Oscar to B.C. (Search & Rescue Msn completed)
10-Aug-2009 14th Search & Rescue - Mr. Oscar Perez of Spanish Latok-1 Expedition from Latok-1 B.C (Search & Rescue Msn Not Accomplished) (0900 Hours Local / 10th Aug) Telephonic message received from Mr. Naik Naam of Adventure Tours for Search & Rescue of Mr. Oscar Perez of Spanish Latok-1 Expedition from Latok-1 B.C on 10 Aug 09. He told that Mr. Oscar Perez is stuck on Latok-1 at 6300 meters. The helicopter will carry 4 x Spanish high altitude porters from Skardu to Latok-1 B.C who will climb on Latok-1 and bring Mr. Oscar to B.C. The helicopters will also drop food supplies on Mr. Oscar at 6300 meters. (0920 Hours Local / 10th Aug) Mission passed to GHQ on Telephone. (0930 Hours Local / 10 Aug) Fax message to Corps and FCNA / Sqn. (1340 hours local 2 x Ecureuil helicopters have taken off from Skardu with 2 x Spanish Porters for Latok-1 B.C. (1735 hours local) The helicopters came back Skardu and pilots told that they could not land at Latok-1 B.C due to non-availability of suitable helipad at the B.C. The mission will be carried out again tomorrow morning. (Search & Rescue Msn Not Accomplished)

20-Jul-2009 11th Rescue - Mr. Andrew Mark of Alpine K2 Expedition. (Rescue Completed) (0900 Hours Local / 20th July) Telephonic message from Mr. Essar Karim of Adventure Tours called for Rescue of Mr. Andrew Mark of Alpine K2 & Broad Peak Expedition, (0920 Hours Local / 20th July) Mission passed to GHQ on Telephone. (0935 Hours Local / 20th July) Fax message to Corps and FCNA / Sqn. Helicopters are already committed in operation. Tour Operator has been informed accordingly about the status of the helicopters. Rescue will be executed after 1200 hours / local. At 1320 hrs 2 x Ecureuil helicopters took off from Skardu for K2 B.C for evacuaion of Mr. Andrew Mark. At 1600 hrs Mr. Andrew Mark has been sucessfully evacuated to Skardu. (Rescue Completed)
17-Jul-2009 10th Rescue-Transportation of dead body of Miss. Go Mi Sun from Diamir B.C to Islamabad completed. (1330 Hours Local / 16 July) Request for transportation of dead body of Miss. Go Mi Sun from Diamir B.C to Islamabad received. Msn passed to GHQ, Corps HQ and Sqd by 1400 hours local. At 1500 hrs local, we called B.C to check the status of dead body, expedition members confirmed that the high altitude potters have reached the dead body by foot and are bringing it down to B.C. It would take them another 3 hours more to reach the B.C. (1930 hours local) Dead Body has reached the B.C but, due to limitation of time the transportation of dead body to Islamabad will be carried out on 17 July morning. All concerned have been informed accordingly. (0630 hours local / 17 Jul) 1 x Mi-17 helicopter took off from Skardu to Diamir B.C. (1130 hours local) Dead Body has reached Islamabad and has been delivered to concerned. (Mission Completed)
16-Jul-2009 9th Rescue-Transportation of 2 x Korean Expert Climbers for recovery of dead body of Miss. Go Mi Sun from Skardu to Diamir B.C completed. (1600 Hours Local / 15 July) Request for transportation of 2 x Korean expert climbers for the recovery of Miss Go Mi Sun's dead body from Skardu to Diamir B.C received. Msn passed to GHQ, Corps HQ and Sqd by 1700 hours local. 0610 hrs local / 16 July 1 x helicopter took off from Skardu to drop 2 x Korean Expert climbers to Diamir B.C. 0930 hours local transportation completed.
15-Jul-2009 8th Rescue-2nd Search & Rescue for Dead Body of Miss. Go Mi Sun of Korean Nanga Parbat Expedition 09 from Diamir B.C completed. (1100 Hours Local / 15th July) 2 x Ecureuil helicopters took off from Skardu to Diamir B.C for serach & rescue of the dead body of Miss. Go Mi Sun of Korean Nanga Parbat Expedition 09. 1530 hrs local helicopters returned to Skardu, dead body could not be recovered. 2nd Search & Rescue completed

Go Mi Sun located but could not be retrieved due to non-availability of suitable landing site for helicopters. SEARCH COMPLETED (1500 hrs Local/12th July).

(1254 Hours Local) Two Helicopters tookoff from Skardu to Urdukas for rescue of Mr. David Faelt. (Mission Completed)
25-Jun-2009 3rd Rescue-Italian / Swiss K2 Expedition 2009 from K2 B.C 24 Jun-At 1740 hrs The Esteemed Italian Embassy in Islamabad furnished the guarantee for payment and requested for rescue of Mr. Michele Fait (who has expired) & Mr. Fredrik Ericsson of Italian / Swiss K2 Expedition from K2 B.C. Immediately the rescue mission was passed to all concerned. The mission will be undertaken on 25 Jun 09, morning subject to clear weather conditions. 25 Jun-At 0900 hrs 2 x Ecureuil helicopters took off from Skardu to evacuate Mr. Michele & Mr. Fredrik from K2 B.C. At 1240 hrs Mr. Michele Fait (Dead Body) & Mr. Fredrik Ericsson have been sucessfully evacuated to Skardu.
25-Jun-2009 2nd Rescue-Canadian Broad Peak Expedition 2009 from Broad Peak B.C 24 Jun-At 1610 hrs Mr. Esar Karim of Adventure Tours called and requested for rescue of Mr. Barry Alan of Canadian Broad Peak B.C who was in serious health condition from Broad Peak B.C. Immediately the rescue mission was passed to all concerned. By 1630 hrs the rescue mission was coordinated / approved but due to shortage of time the mission could not be undertaken on 24 Jun 09. The mission will be undertaken on 25 Jun 09, morning subject to clear weather conditions. 25 Jun-At 0900 hrs 2 x Ecureuil helicopters took off from Skardu to evacuate Mr. Barry Alan from Broad Peak B.C. At 1240 hrs Mr. Barry Alan has been sucessfully evacuated to Skardu.
23-Jun-2009 Expeditions without helicopter rescue cover. International K2 Ski Expedition 2009 led by Mr. Fredrik Ericsson left for K2 without depositing a security with Askari Aviation. The expedition is therefore climbing without a helicopter rescue cover and is not entitled for a rescue by helicopter.
21-Jun-2009 1st Rescue - UK / Canadian Baltoro Trekkers 2009 from Braod Peak B.C At 1030 hrs Mr. Asghar Porik of Jasmine Tours called and requested for rescue evacuation of 2 x members of UK / Canadian Trekkers from Broad Peak B.C. As per our record the said group was not registered with AAL. Mr. Asghar Porik immediately came to our office and got the group registered. The rescue msn was then passed to all concerned i.e. Army Avn Directorate, 10 Corps, HQ FCNA & 5 Army Avn Squadron. 2 x Ecureuils were detailed for the rescue msn. At 1425 hrs the helicopters took off from Skardu and by 1615 hrs Mr. Andrew Ensslen & Mr. Graham David were successfully evacuated to Skardu.
